Sad news……
October 7, 2010
My dear friend Annie lost her darling puppy Bronte yesterday in a traffic accident. My heart aches to see my friend in such pain as well as the loss of such a dear little dog, just 4 months old! Bronte was a long-awaited for puppy, and combined the best of Annie’s collie line and mine. Her Mum Buffy took until she was six to reproduce and then only one girl puppy, which Annie and I sat up one night waiting for, Buffy made us wait all night for Bronte to arrive. She was named Bronte after the town in Australia that Annie and I stayed in at the beginning of the year, a reminder of a great holiday.
Annie had given Bronte a great time, in her short life, taking her along to agility shows, dog club, puppy party’s with Maggie and me, taking it all in her stride and already showing a great temperament and joy for life! Bronte saw more of life in her short time than most puppy’s!
I am sure you all join me in sending Annie your deepest sympathy and love!
Death leaves a heartache
No one can heal;
Love leaves a memory
No one can steal

Annie,
I was deeply moved by Avril’s story of your loss of Bronte. I am so sorry and I feel for you in your grief as I have also recently lost my two best friends. Although it’s difficult today to see beyond the sorrow, may looking back in memory help comfort you. My deepest and sincere sympathies go out to you at this time. With Love Jenni x x

Dear Annie
My thoughts are with you at this very sad time, as you know many years ago I too lost a puppy in her early years of life and still treasure the short time we had together. Here is a poem I found on the internet, I hope this helps a little.
Lend Me A Pup
I will lend to you awhile a puppy, God said, for you to love her while she lives and to mourn for her when she is gone. Maybe for 12 or 14 years, or maybe for 2 or 3 but will you, till I call her back take care of her for me.
She will bring her charms to gladden you and ( should her stay be brief ) you’ll always have her memories as solace for your grief.
I cannot promise that she will stay, since all from Earth return, but there are lessons taught below. I want this pup to learn.
I’ve looked the whole world over, in search of teachers true and from the fold that crowds life land. I have chosen you. Now will you give her all your love, Nor think the labour vain, nor hate me when I come, to take my pup back again?
I fancied that I heard them say, “Dear Lord, They will be Done”
For all the joys this pup will bring the risk of grief you”ll run.
Will you Shelter her with tenderness ?
Will you love her while you may?
And for the happiness you”ll know forever grateful stay.
But should I call her back much sooner than you’ve planned, please brave the bitter grief that comes and try to understand.
If by your love, you’ve managed my wishes to achieve, in memory of her that you’ve loved, Cherish every moment with your faithful bundle, and know she “LOVED” you too.
Love Maggie xx
